Extra precise measuring tape, coupled with an extra large sharpie to give a good 6mm grey area of where the line actually is. In retrospect tape wouldve helped

Kinja'd!!!

Used a drill to relief each corner then went through with an angle grinder for all the horizontal cuts.

Each vent is 7.25" wide and roughly 1" tall, a sheet of semi-rigid plastic was lain in to act as a duct.

I realize all the air in the world at the front of a radiator does nothing if pressure in the engine bay keeps flow from happening but this is part of the process. Better flow through the bumper with ducting, then hood ventilation and more heat mitigating material for wiring/hoses. Currently the hood is too hot to touch, while driving the hot air moving under the car and through the trans tunnel heats the interior by at least 25°F.

This is my kind of bodywork, fast, functional, and done on some kind of residential property . Is your plate moulded to fit the bumper too?

This is awesome!

I also recommend taking the tiny lights out on either side of the grill to make them vents.

It ll get spit polished once I’m staring at it in the garage and notice irregularities between the rectangles, nothing a wood file cant fix.

Some  interior screws go into the bumper which bent the plate to shape as they drove home. Wish the plate didnt have to be there but the car needs less reasons to be pulled over

That’s sounds cheaper then what was being considered, so it’s now in front of the line, as far as,”less hot air intakes”

Hey at least you didn’t just stick it on the front dash so you can take a license plate to the dome in any accident. I see that one a lot here in Ontario where we mandate front plates too. Good choice that looks good

Coo lant temps tem ps before were around   186 with a max of 198 F, now it’s the max is about 193 with a similar idling temp.   Not enough to say anything conclusive, but the issue seems to be getting the air out of the engine bay.

It’s time for some good louvers! May I also suggest a GT500 hood vent. Would probably do a good job of getting hot air to exit after the radiator. It is a functional vent. I wanted to put one in on my Galant. But never did.

I did that on several cars. I used some sticky foam to get to stay in place.

Cut holes in the hood. How are the seals around the rad fans?

Imagine frisbee-ing a license plate at someone’s head. Then imagine you are that someone. Not good. Unless it was some real serious sticky foam. But I’m glad you’re okay

S pent alot of time thinking about the gt500 vent, decided a few hole saw bits would be cheaper.

Kinja'd!!!

The current plan is something like this but along the whole side of the hood.

Kinja'd!!!

Also similar to the Jaaaaaaag vents.

There is no seal around the fan shroud but it sits flush with the radiator

this is how i attacked cooling after adding 150whp. i also installed a triple pass radiator and aluminum under tray i made from a construction sight sign.  i put a single naca duct pointing up at the back of the engine on the tray to add some fresh air to help move air around the turbo up and out...seems to have worked...

Thank you for this, I remember you made a post a while back which got me thinking about ducting everything.

The plan is an 1/8" thick plasic sheet reinforced with aluminum struts for the undertray, do you have any pics of your?
