Shame they discontinued that colour in 2015-16.
Beautiful colour.
In the U.K. you could still order a new Scirocco, a year after they stopped production.

Sometimes grey scale is not a bad thing, subtle colours look under stated on some cars.

This is very true. But I think these days people tend towards drab colors. So something bright is a sign of bucking that sad trend

Did they! Damn shame. It’s the signature color in my book.
By order, you mean they had left over inventory? Sad that the thing didn't sell. I guess it was cannibalising Golf sales. There was even a two door golf already, and other things like awd that the roc couldn't do

Ye’, you could order new from inventory. I think they had more RHD left tha n LHD, because they stayed on the U.K. website long after they disappeared from European websites.
The Mk3 Scirocco was up against other cars that came and went, such as the
Ford Mk2.5 Focus RS.
Vauxhall Sixth Gen Astra GTC VXR (you could still order until recently).

Now I understand why Leif Eriksson kept sailing west.

This combination of European and American history is entirely lost on an Australian

He was a Viking thought to have been born in Iceland who is credited with discovering Canada. He was the son of Erik the Red, who discovered Greenland.

You mean the HSV one?

?
Our Vauxhall performance brand from 2004-5 was VXR later VXRacing.
The only car we got up here that had HSV was the Holden Monaro HSV, which was rebadged a Vauxhall Monaro VXR.
With the Holden - Vauxhall car s.
Some cars were badged Holden, some Vauxhall, some badged as both like this ‘Vauxhall VXR8'.
Vauxhall ‘VXR8'
Vauxhall ‘GTS’
Vauxhall
Holden
HSV (I believe on the dash next to the air vent )
VXR
Then there’s this one.
2007 Vauxhall VXR8
VXR8
Holden
Vauxhall

For a while the astra VXR was sold here as an HSV model. It gets messy though since opel came and went, then Holden started selling the opel astra as their own.

Ye’, as I understand that HSV is Ho ldens in house performance brand to Vauxhall and Opals VXR/VXRacing.
We’ve had some curious VXRs over the years.
etc...

Most of those we did not get :p tbh the fast astra was both a daring leap and a failed experiment
