It is amusing every time I post folk punk music someone posts a pop song on folk instruments. Here is folk punk musicians playing a pop song “Gin and Juice.” I saw both Steven King and Escape from the Zoo / Chad Hates George on Saturday.

I like the shock value of The Gourds’ version. You don’t expect a guy with a mandolin to suddenly start talking about how “we don’t love them whores”, and how “you motherfuckers bounce to this”.

Some friends of mine are a folk/americana band that play local breweries and wineries , and this song is a regular part of their set.
