I’ve been slacking off on anything motorcycle related for this one, creality ender3. 3D printing has been on my to-do list for a while and i found this one on the aliexpress app for $170. I think it’s been running almost 24/7 for the last 2 weeks. The four supports here were about 35 hours in 2 runs.
Goal here is to create a really nice enclosure to keep temps up, move all the electronics outside the enclosure, and print nylon and nylon polymers with really consistent results. Also going to happen to meet that goal is a DIY filament dryer to get the water out of nylon since its a royal bitch to keep dry without one.
Then I’m printing motorcycle and car parts. ALL the motorcycle and car parts. I’ve also seen some interesting filaments that are impregnated with metal powders to get a nice heft to the object, it’s crazy what these things can do.

Aw this is great! I love this. My setup is nothing like this (my setup is actually quite modest, just a m3d+ and a rig for the PLA)

This looks cool. I’d like to play around with such things, but honestly I’m not sure what I’d be printing to make it even close to worthwhile for me... Seems like you’ve got plans, but beyond a few trim clip type things, I’m struggling to think what I’ve bought that might be at all a candidate for printing.

We’ve been playing with our Ender 3 for a while. It’s good fun. Got some glow in the dark filament for the kids to play with.

That’s the best part, you can print anything! You can make all sorts of little trinkets for coworkers/friends, that’s a goal of mine this year to print something for each classmate, or you can print nice brackets for simple things. Custom coat hangers or a little piece to space something here or there can really make a difference, I’ve even printed a little plastic piece that would have cost $500 to replace. Took me less than an hour.

How do you find it? I’m contemplating picking up an Ender 3
so I can do PLA, ABS, and all sorts of filaments with the heated bed...
Is yours just the normal Ender 3, or the Pro, or the 3X? I don’t know the difference between the three...I was looking at this one:

Where’d you get yours?

Mines a standard 3. I got it off of Woot last spring.
It prints well. No real issues so far. I need to get some reasonable modeling software so I can do more stuff.

Does the standard 3 have the heated build plate?
