The appointed ones are pretty stupid too, the US ambassador to Mexico went to Frida Kahlo’s house and published some pointless shriek on twitter about her fascination with the soviet union and communism (Nevermind that her husband was communist and his lover was Leon-fucking Trotsky) and how the soviets were ruthless dictators, and hurt their foreign allies.
Lets just say people spent the entire weekend reminding him about the US policy in Central America.

I forget the name of the book, but a Secret Service guy wrote a book about how nasty Hillary and Bill were towards their whole details, both Secret Service and military attaches. Made it seem awful...

LMAO. Every time I start to think that ambassadors are selected based on their expertise and diplomacy skills, I’m reminded that they’re almost always just token positions for large campaign donors.
