Photos from our bike ride down to watch the Airshow today. Sorry for the quality, my Huawei P30 lite has a pretty good camera but it’s still just a phone camera.
Highlight for me was seeing the Red Arrows and discovering they’re still as awesome as I remember from when I was a kid! They’re on a to
ur going across North America at the moment and I’d highly recommend if they’re in your neighborhood.
They had their flight engineers wandering through the crowd chatting with kids, answering questions and signing the odd autograph which was cool, especially as we were just hanging out in the park not in the paid exhibition section.
The search and rescue demo is always entertaining; toss a couple of rescue swimmers out of a helicopter then circle round and fish them out again.(fireboat in the background)
The Yak 50 was a surprisingly big hit with the kids, but I guess this year is the first time we’ve got close enough to really see the propeller aircraft.
Biiig choppa (CH 148 cyclone)
We missed the A10 because pizza was more of a priority but overall the kids lasted though the whole show, some light rain and a bike ride to and fro. Pretty great afternoon all told.

so I’m always in the area
but will be stuck at home cleaning and prepping
for the first day of school tomorrow.

I saw the Snowbirds back in 2012 at an air show in Fort Worth. Miserable weather that day, at least for photography. I really enjoyed the show, though. The as powerful as the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds, but very graceful and well executed.

Now those are airshow photos!
As much as I
dearly love the snowbirds -they fly over my house every year- the Red Arrows’ Hawk jets allow them to pull the same type of
9 plane formation manuevers but with way faster
climb rates and tighter turns - it's pretty impressive.

Thanks. Aviation photography is my thing .
I’ve never seen the Red Arrows but I’d like to. And when it comes to American teams, I prefer the Blue Angels to the Thunderbirds. As for the Snowbirds, I wonder how much longer they will be flying those Tutors. Those jets were last produced in 1966--the year I was born.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...I went to Nova Scotia on vacation and all I got was this t-shirt
Oh and a new crank position sensor for the Jetta as it crapped out on the way from Lunenburg into Halifax for the day...
