I'm dying. CX3 renews on the 15th for another $3K. But I'll be damned before I pay $3K on a car I don't want/have to the company who's trying to fuck me.

That’s all I gotta say. Wow. Is that, like, a normal insurance rate in Canada?

THAT IS INSANE. I’m under 25 (with no at faults) and the most I’ve paid is 2340 annually for my 2.4 Saturn Ion couple in southern Ontario with 9000km a year and it being used for commuting. I am genuinely sorry you are paying so much, that can’t feel good especially considering your current battle with the insurance co

The liability amounts seem very very high...also I’m assuming it’s way cheaper to pay up front than monthly?

Wow...I’m on a family plan because I am living at home at the moment, but when I was in uni paying a normal full rate for decent coverage on my Subaru, I think it was like $800 a year...?

So that’s 8300 CAD to insure three modern vehicles... that’s like 6300 USD. And that's with your discount. Yeesh.

O_O
I pay a bit over half that for my ‘09 128i (10k/yr pleasure use) and ‘17 WRX (25k/yr, 15km commute listed) with very similar coverage and deductibles here in Ontario, which is usually considered and expensive market for insurance, BC notwithstanding. All things considered I guess I’m doing alright considering the WRX isn’t a cheap car to insure.

Truck is worth it. Can’t say the same about the Forte in a vacuum , but it keeps the FiST and truck alive. Except the FiST ain’t cheap either. Obviously the CX-3 was worth every cent if your wife was happy, now it’s just bad juju

The Forte at least I make money on. I get an allowance for it, and it gives me tax advantages.
It all seems insane, but works in my little ecosystem

Are those limits normal there? They are way higher than what companies even offer without special arrangement in the US.
I have $250 k each/$500k bodily injury to others, $100k property damage, $100k/$300k injury by uninsured. I believe those were all the most GEICO was offering me through their website (I also have an umbrella policy) . The Massachusetts mandatory limits are even lower ($20k/$40k Bodily Injury, and $5000 property), though obviously those seem absurdly low to me.

Business use k ills you, our Forester is somewhere around $1800 and the Tacoma is just over $2000.
Wonder how the new formulas are going to work out?

The traditional response is that CAD is worth like a hundredth as much as the USD, but even with the real offset, that’s insane. I thought mine was stiff... Your limits are insanely high, though. Mine are above state limits plus an umbrella policy, which is distinctly cheaper than increasing the limits .

Hilariously bad. I am just over 1500 USD for full coverage on both cars, and the wagon isn’t exactly a cheap machine. Of course, I am also a broken down old man, so maybe I am seen as a low risk.

Insanity. I suspect your coverage might be higher than mine, but for me to hit that level would add probably just several percent to my bill.
I have to disagree with someone else and say this is another realm along with housing where BC is not worth the price of admission.
