Sometimes I can’t believe they pay me for this job.
Silvers are running right now, but no joy. I did haul in 4 good size rockfish though. I’m gonna hit it hard this afternoon, and then tomorrow try for Dolly Vardens on the fly.

Ouch.
The rock on my line grabbed my hook so hard part of it went through the roof of his mouth and came out by his eye socket. I was as gentle as possible getting it out, but the poor guy didn't make it. He was still thrashing when I put him back, but a couple minutes later he was belly up.

Lingcod get so damn big up there. Caught two legal 24" lings on one line last time I fished Shelter Cove, CA. We caught one monster at about 36" with a mouth like a softball. Ugly ass fish but they taste amazing. Fun to see the blues and the greens too. Good job. Great place to fish.

That sounds amazing.
I tried a few other spots this afternoon while my buddy was off with a guide fly fishing. I got some gouge frome the locals at the bar so I'm gonna hit it again tomorrow, and maybe try my hand at the fly line.
