As you may know by now, we’re preparing for a now not so direct, but still hard hit from Hurricane Dorian.
If I go quiet for a while, it’s to be expected. In any case, I’ll be sure to post whenever I can.
Palm Beach County is still receiving category 1-2 winds, which is enough to leave us without power and internet for a while, so I’ll keep you updated as I can.
We’re stocked up and ready to go in the BM2 household.
If I’m honest, this is the first true hurricane we’ve experienced since the disastrous 2005 season.

Good luck, and stay safe. Even if it’s not a direct hit, I hope you’re not in a place too close to the coast. Sounds like the combo of storm surge, rain, and slow-moving storm is gonna mean some pretty serious wet.

Stay safe down there. We are in the Daytona area, and it looks like most of it will miss us. You will certainly get some wind and water.

Be safe. One thing I have done is get decent sized UPS backup for the internet and device chargers. In my area during Harvey when we lost power the internet was still working so I had a good 6 hours of backup power. I have the modem on one, router on another, and one more for charging phones, iPads, etc.

Good luck! It may be coming up the coast to hit us in Nova Scotia by next weekend
, but they are usually weakened by then...then again, they sometimes strengthen again, so we’ll see...

Stay safe and best of luck. Having gone through Katrina here in Mississippi, I understand what you mean about how bad 2005 was. Hopefully it will do as the models have been showing the last few days and turn so that you won’t receive the worst of it. Either way, good to be prepared for the worst while hoping for the best.

Might be doing some extended work travel to the Florida panhandle this fall, so hopefully this hurricane season isn't too crazy. That will surely be an adventure, to have to evacuate while on travel orders. I'm used to the "it doesn't ever rain" weather in Socal so that shit is going to be wayyyy alien.

I’d say that Irma and Matthew were pretty bad though. Shit took out half the trees and roofs in my neighborhood. However, I’m sure it’s worse for you because you’re more South than I am. Either way, stay safe and hopefully this storm doesn’t do much damage, I’m trying to go car shopping after it and am hoping the cars I’m looking at won’t get destroyed in the next couple of days.

Best of luck to you and yours down there. Hoping this thing stays mostly off the coast and not making any direct landfall. I’m keeping a close eye on the track here on the Outer Banks of NC. Nothing to get too worried about just yet here but we’re still quite a ways out from any potential impact.
