Regretfully !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the 2021 model year, but Jeep dropped nearly all of their interesting colors so I expect some to return mid-year. Please, Mark Allen, please .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Jeep calls this color “Bikini”. XJ fans would probably call it teal. I named it for my reaction as I drove past the dealership.
The only downside is it’s hard to photograph the color accurately.

Yesterday I saw the first bulletproof JL I’ve ever seen. The roof looks like it’s still removable; they probably made a kevlar lining for it with steel edges. Suffice to say; the center of gravity must be monstrously high.
L ook at the attention to detail; they added the jeep graphic to the bulletproof windshield

I imagine the price tag is similarly monstrous.

It’s a 47 k rubicon sitting on 35k worth of polycarbonate, kevlar* , and steel
*: or whichever off brand equivalent they use when they don’t want to pay DuPon t

The only benefit I see is that if the owner has a crane, and an extra set of doors and roof; they’d still be able to off road comfortably since most of the extra weight is because of the glass. You could offload 300-350kg of material from the thing just because of the removable parts

Sooo....did you buy it?

Thankfully it was an automatic so all temptation was removed.
Besides, I really don’t need two Wranglers. Maybe a Wrangler and a CJ, sure, or a Gladiator...

Can you order it with a pink decal package?

LOL! “People are trying to kill me every day, but i also like to have fun on the weekends.”

Within each jeep lives a great multiplicity

i like that it exists, a lot.

either they have the stock windshield on still (which wouldn’t do much against bullets) or they had one made up with the same stupid jeep easter eggs

Its bulletproof... it’s hilarious attention to detail by the modifier

That’s a pretty color.

I firmly believe the Wrangler is about as versatile a vehicle as you can buy. Convertible (to an extreme). Off-road. Family cruiser. Cargo hauler (sorta).
Just don’t ask it for speed. Or fuel efficiency.

I wonder if they maybe used the original windshield and laminated that into the ballistic stuff. Maybe someone smarter than me could explain if that’s even possible.

I guess, I mean, the YJ I tried was hopeless; but at the same time; it fit everywhere, and it didn’t matter if I skipped a speed hump.
I genuinely want a JL because of that capability; even in the city. Which is why I want FCA to sell the hybrid one here

That would be impossible. What they normally do is use the original glass to make a mold for the ballistic one;
They use thick glass for the base (like, 5mm) and then start laminating polycarbonate, glass, and then polycarbonate multiple times. Then they fabricate a steel edge for the base glass and seal it all up.
In the end, in a properly made one, you get glass on the outside and glass on the inside. But they can do all sorts of stuff, like keep rain sensors and cameras for ACC

Can I get a mix between these two?
