People using an turn-only lane to pass backed-up traffic, then blocking that lane entirely, throwing on their blinker, and wait a couple minutes to cut back in once traffic starts crawling again.

Happened to me a couple of days ago. Road has three lanes, two turn left the other turns right. Woman in the far right lane had her left blinker on so I gave her some room to move over, but she stayed in the far right lane. I figured she forgot her signal was one and carried on. Then at the turn she wedged herself in to the stalled traffic until it started to move and then barged in to the line. Asshole.

I just take the damn turn, and urge myself to do better next time.

Happened in Virginia all the time. Line of cars waiting to turn left? Drive in the right lane until the end then just jam your car in. Usually a Mercedes.

Yeah, spending a few hours a day in Seattle traffic is not a job perk. Luckily I get to do it in a 1 ton diesel. If I am in my work truck I will aggressively block these people, not so much in the personal rig. Particularly bad trying to get from I-90 West to 405, or 522 to I405.

Its amazing how hard of a concept it is to just circle the block or take the next exit.

Not just a PNW thing. It’s also illegal as hell. One of our local highways was widened to accommodate a center turn lane. People started using it as an acceleration and passing lane. The state police stepped in and started writing tickets for turning right (merging) from a left-turn only lane.

A PNW thing is going 5 under in the left lane with a 11-and-1 deathgrip on the steering wheel, bonus if in a Prius/Civrolla/Camcord/bloatling CUV or Subaru.

Sometimes that is very true, especially on 167 or if early enough, 405, where the drones enter the interstate and make a beeline for the left lane. I’ve heard there’s supposed to be enforcement of this, but have yet to see proof.

For fast food tacos it is superior. I also grew up with it and I like their salsa. It’s not spicy at all, I just like the flavor. I get it about twice a year since I now live on the other side of the country.

People near me will go into the right turn lane if it’s empty and there is a line in the straight lane at a red light and then light em up and go straight when it turns green.
