Most of the fleet cars I’ ve seen are newer Chevy/GM/Ford S/C UV things.

Definitely not usual to have cars that old in the US, especially for a passenger vehicle (seeing older trucks is more common, though outside of specialty vehicles, seeing something that old is pretty rare these days) .
