I’m enjoying a small vanilla ice cream cone chillin’ in the La-Z-boy recliner and re- watching some Miller Corner on Youtube on the Media Center PC after my daily bike ride on some deserted late-evening country roads .

Targa was “hospitalized” (sedated/kept for monitoring) due to some issues with her ears.

CX-3 is still in claims limbo and work is dead. So...cracking some beers hopefully

Awww, sorry to hear about the critter! Tazz has been limping around all day today but we don’t see anything wrong...think she might’ve rolled her front-right ‘ankle’ or something similarly painful, but not major. I don’t see any splinters in her paw or anything, so w e’ll keep an eye on her tomorrow and see if it goes away.

Yay for work being slow! Sucks about the CX-3...I really hope you can work that out and get a second car back for the wife post-haste.

I left the office and the building I was walking next to was struck by lightning. I made it to the truck and the sky fell. I managed to drive out of it just to find this waiting for me at the hotel. A few minutes later, the sky fell here too. Then lightning hit something important and I was sitting in the dark. It’s all back on now, but I keep seeing flashes of lightning outside. I was supposed meet some people for dinner, but I think I may just stay here and eat at the “bistro” downstairs.

Ooo....the sky looks angry...

We’ve got a Tropical Cyclone bearing down on us tomorrow evening....not too much wind, but it’ll be a lot of rain in a short amount of time. We need it, but the ground is so dry, it’s not going to get absorbed well unless it’s a slow steady rain, so with a lot of rain quickly, I am hoping we don’t see flooding...

I’m running chkdsk on a 2TB spinny drive that may be kaput. Poop on me for not backing it up since 2015. Naturally, it’s my data drive with all my photos, iTunes library, and other things I’d really like to not lose. I had meant to get a NAS RAID setup this year, now $1200 later it’s all on the way...

We had our basement flood in October last year that insurance would only cover some of the cost to repair...I hope to HELL it doesn’t happen again....

Damn, that sucks man...I have a Win10 desktop (Core i7 3.4Ghz - OS drive is a 256GB SSD, Data drive is a 500gb HDD), a Linux Mint 19.2 MATE laptop (AMD A6 2.0GHz - 750GB HDD) and a Linux Mate 19.2 MATE desktop (Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz - 320GB HDD)...

As for backups...I know Java is the Devil’s work, but I found a really handy over-the-network program a few years back called JFileSync that I use to periodically manually sync all my important stuff from one machine to the other two, so if one dies, I still have it all in the exact same folder structure, etc on the other two as well. Works pretty decently! It’s Java, so it’s not amazing, and the interface is a bit dated and slightly confusing to somebody new to it, but once you’re used to it, it’s not bad at all! The PLUS side to it being Java is that it’s cross-compatible with Windows, Mac OR Linux and can sync to any of the others and vice versa, so that’s really nice to have.

It was honestly one of the best margherita pizzas I’ve had in a while. The beer was excellent. Shout out to Beachfly Brewing in Indian Harbor Beach, FL.

I have an ancient Bell steel U-style one for whenever I need it that slides into a holder on the side of the frame - you can see it clearly in the bottom pic. :)

I poked my eye while wiping sweat from my face and now I have an eye infection :( On antibiotics and antibiotic eye drops. Swelling gone down but still bloodshot. My 1st prescription drugs... I feel old

I hope you had a conversation with your agent about policy coverage! Was it from rain? Was it backwater flooding? Was it a broken pipe? If it was natural and you’re out of the flood plain, then flood insurance is cheap and worth every penny.

Nah, it was stolen . It was an iPhone 6S Plus, it was paid for, and I was totally happy with it.
