I wanted to comment on the FP about the diesel jetta wagon ... main complaints of ownership included:

1. tires were old and blew out on a pothole - how did she not make the dealer replace tires that sat in a parking lot for 2 years?!

2. dealer service was expensive - uhhh, next

3. working diesel pumps are hard to find - ok, maybe if you’re traveling and don’t know the area?  But at home, you should be able to find a few go-to places. Not sure how this is a problem

4. cheap oil change places don’t stock the filters - for the love of Winterkorn don’t take your TDI to a quicky-lube, or ANY CAR for that matter!

But yeah, not worth it.

the other day someone handed me a laptop they found in a bag under their desk while moving offices. It had windows 98 and Netscape Navigator on it. It worked! But it also had old work stuff on it, from some long-forgotten employee. I’m sure we had to wipe it.
