Something I’ve noticed is that Manual Challengers are getting cheap... and I kinda like them a lot.
I could see my self DDing one of these, and getting in a lot of trouble with it. On an unrelated note there’s a Furious Fuchsia, with a manual trans for sale near Minneapolis. I dig it.
However if I was going to buy one, I’d wait until the 2015s get cheaper because the interior, and wheels are better. Also I’m into the blue a lot.
Anyway I kind of want to go test drive the black one just to see if these are something I should continue thinking about, or if they live up to their reputation of being a boat.

I love the classic RT striping and wheels on the Challenger. Shame they dropped that package from their lineup. You should definitely check them out.

They’re a boat. I loved the one I test drove. I test drove one a little over a year ago, ‘18 Scat Pack. Usable back seat, huge trunk, gobs of power. I can see picking up a ‘15+ in a couple of years.

Yeah the 08-14 interior is bad. I don’t think I could handle it.

I’ve thought about these too, but I can’t stand the interiors on the earlier Challengers, especially when compared to how much better the newer ones are.

They do live up to their reputation of being a boat, but they are also something you should continue thinking about. They have this weird effect on you, you are aware that they're objectively terrible cars but you just don't give a shit once you're behind the wheel.

Had a couple of rental RTs (auto obv) and liked them a lot more than I expected; big, comfy, quick and make nice noises.
If I drove a manual
one every day I could see myself doing some silly things too: it’ll kick the tail out easily on
a wet turn.

Those interiors really are bad. I almost bought a Caliber SRT4 at one point but that interior was sooo bad. Every Chrysler product from the 00’s is horrible from the interior. It wasn’t until 11 when things started getting updated and made acceptable. Kinda of surprising that it took until 15 for the Challenger to get that update

It’s the most traditional of today’s muscle cars, in terms of size and style . It has no pretense of being sporty in the modern sense (tidy dimensions, athletic weight and suspension setup) and that vibe is its core appeal.

I was driving a boat last week.
And I’ve driven these cars.
These do not drive like boats.
They drive much better than boats... and much better than Panther cars as well.
