I have managed to get a working electrical circuit again! Some other stuff to connect before I attempt to crank it. But I thought I was boned and going to need a professional. Hope lives! It’s messy and needs to be sorted but at least I have power from and to the battery again and so far all the accessories work. I’m sure there’ll be something that’s messed up but at least I can track them down now.

My OCD is wigging out, that wiring is pretty intense.

AMC Eagle, the only car I’ve pulled out of a ditch with my Datsun 510 wagon.

That’s what happens when a guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing tries to make a car work that he pulled the motor out of in 2016 (I think). And then gets too ambitious and tackles a fuel conversion project (designed for a Jeep CJ or YJ) at the same time so he removes over 13 devices/ sensors and the old computer. The timeline’s been so long I’m forgetting stuff and relearning it multiple times. Much customing has taken place. A single “just move the bracket” type instruction often involved 2 days of custom fabrication.
I had to relocate a bunch of stuff and just needed to get the power “on” with what I’ve got. I’ll remount the starter solenoid in its new home and get the proper length cables now. Then I can troubleshoot and then re-loom everything once I’m done. There’s a bunch of dead end wires and connectors that need to go too .
Cause oh yeah, that mess...
it causes me a lot of anxiety.

Mmmmmmmmm. I tried so hard before I bought this car to get my hands on an unmolested 510 wagon. Or at least one worked in a way I liked. After 4 months I gave up and moved onto 610 trucks... that ended up fruitless too. So now, coincidently I’ve gone AMC for the wagon and Dodge Rampage for the truck. Truck’s getting repainted right now. Hoping I get it back by the end of the month. I’m only semi hopeful there.

Sounds like fun. Always nice to have a good excuse to rewire correctly though, silver linings and all.

Did you figure out what went wrong?

Ground portion of the circuit was broke and so was the neutral safety switch. So once I realized I was only getting power TOO the starter solenoid and not anywhere else that was a big key to finding the problem.
