I'm not seeing a vehicle so I'll just assume you mean your scooter. Great idea.

I’ve done that exact drive in a normal car. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve done 250 mile days on the ruckus, it’s far more comfortable than any of your sport bikes :p

I was expecting to see a picture of your Aero. Is that a relatively stock Ruckus?

Ish? Its one of the fastest stock motor ruckuses in Oregon. Aftermarket CDI, variator, carb, and a shit load of tuning. She’ll cruise at 50 on a flat without much issue

Sounds like fun. I'm still researching scoots and hopefully I can snag one this fall when people decide to get rid of it before winter.

That’s definitely buying time! Right as the weather starts to turn. The other buying time (if you aren’t opposed to cleaning carbs) is just at the beginning of the season where the bikes that have sat refuse to start

lols, thats what you think. SV was PLENTLY comfy. Daytona isnt actually bad with the comfort seat on it.

The ruck is more comfortable than my Street Triple or my Naked SV was , both of which are more comfortable than your bikes. :)

I have zero experience with carburetors. That would be a learning experience. I'm taking a 2,000 mile road trip next week (by car), so that is slightly delaying my scooter plans. But after riding a 50cc scooter at the beach, I know I'm getting a scooter eventually.

Not far enough, you gotta pull a DirtSunrise and go drive to the end of South America. They are only like almost a year into that adventure. Also, I really enjoy that your route is far enough that it has to involve the curvature of the earth to show the whole thing.

I tried, but it wouldn’t give me a mile or time estimate through south america lol

It wasn’t even a particularly good scooter, but it was a blast. I don’t think a 50cc is suitable for my part of the world though. Too many hills.

Sure, if you’re lighter than 155 soaking wet ¯\_()_/¯

B eing able to re position readily is what makes step throughs so nice.

Yeah, where that extra 50-75cc makes a difference is purely in the hills. My ruck will do as little as 25mph up a steep hill.

According to my phone's GPS (because the scooter had a broken speedo), I topped out at 29mph on flat ground. I went over a moderately sized bridge and nearly stalled. That thing wasn't going up hills with my fat ass on it.

It isn’t more per day than I’ve done before, it’s just doing it multiple days in a row, should be fine as long as I manage my fuel stops and elevation (carbs) shouldn’t be too bad

On that note, if you think 1000 miles on a 50 is a lot .... hoooo boy, have I got news for you

That’s a cool blog. Doesn’t change my mind that it’s a bad idea! I once drove nonstop from Lubbock TX to Key West; that was also a bad idea, but fun nonetheless.
