After over a year of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , asking for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and looking for something to replace !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I finally sold it and bought a 4Runner. It’s an 07 SR5, V6, 2WD. I think it’s the best compromise for daily driving that will also be able to haul the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to events, and allow me to go to events farther than Dominion. Perhaps some VIR and/or Sum mit Point will happen next year!

VIR is on my track day bucket list. It looks like such a fun track, especially with the west loop included to break up that long straight.

I might get flamed for this, but my favorite configuration of VIR is the South course. Possibly because I’ve only driven lower-powered cars there and the straights are boring, but South is short and technical. The technical bits are fun (T1 is literally named Bitch, because as a decreasing radius turn it really is) and it’s short enough that you can more easily remember every element and come a lot closer to perfecting car placement, braking and rotation in a day or weekend event.

Had to look it up, but T1 (south) is T13 on the Grand Course, which is longer than the Full course. C&D uses the Grand course for their lightning lap.
I’ve only driven it on Forza, but damn you are right, I hate that turn.

Fourth generation 4Runners were not available with a manual trans, unfortunately. However this is the first auto I’ve ever bought, and honestly I don’t really mind. It will make me appreciate the MR2 and Corolla all the more.

It’s just as hard IRL. I actually used Forza to practice and reac qu aint myself before my last track day there, lol. Easy to get wrong, but when you get it right, it’s so worthwhile.

I mean I’ve had the MR2 for like 11 years now (plus two Cressidas, the FX16, and a Matrix XRS in there too) so I wouldn’t say I’m “new” to Toyotas but certainly to the truck side of it.

Nice, how much does the track car weigh? Might want to look at airbags to keep it level when towing- Firestone riderites are a common solution.

My Corolla weighs around 2000lb, maybe a little less. For now I’ll be using a 2 wheel dolly, but we’ll see how it goes after the HPDE in September.
