I mean, it has it’s benefits, but now that I’ve seen the light, I don’t remember them.

Yeah i bought my BMW in 2000 and haven’t given any real consideration to a FWD car since.

So, is this guy pissed the fiesta st is front wheel drive or does he misundersand that it’s actually fwd and this is a weird, misled flex?

I wonder if their last car was RWD, and the plate w as transferred from that.

I’ve never owned a car that wasn’t RWD . Recently a coworker said she wouldn’t own a RWD car and I honestly had no response besides “it’s fine in the snow if you’re used to it” and “it’s fun.”

I honestly think it’s about the equivalent of Jakes “Camero” plate on his old Mustang. Just  having some fun.

That would be pretty funny if true.

FWD cars I have owned:

1984 Mercury Topaz

1990 Sunbird Torque Steer convertible

1995 Saturn SC2

1996 Ford Taurus

So you can see why I hate FWD...

I learned to drive on a manual Civic, so they have that going for them.

There’s a very dumb animal part of my brain that thinks I can control any kind of oversteer, but if a car understeers I’m going to die.

You’re not alone. For some reason counter-steering has always come  naturally. Tank slappers area bitch though

They’re like cobras. I’m sure if I experienced it enough, I’d know how to react, but I’m also sure that the first time it’s happens I’m going to die.

It is what god intended. It is a car, not a horse- less cart.  T he rear wheels should do the work.

It’s more natural to me to countersteer than to try to make a car turn when it absolutely refuses to do so.

Is there  a FWD car that would be made less fun to drive if it were converted to RWD (assuming all characteristics magically remain the same, except the weight distribution change)

My 1st tank slapper I didn’t die but I wound up facing the wrong way on the highway shoulder at the end of the on ramp. Would not recommend

Not the typical RWD car, but being used to snow was no help in my Previa, unless you were cool with never exceeding  ~20mph. What was helpful were snow tires and sandbags, which kept things nice and tidy (it was fun to play with if it snowed before the tires went on, but not very useful if you actually wanted to get anywhere).

with a non-ST Focus I can occasionally break the wheel free, I can;t imagine what it would be like with the ST. The WRX just gripped 100% of the time. FWD SUX for sure.
