Our resident Fuzzball just saunters into the kitchen and plops down near the cabinet that holds her  treat and stares while flicking her tail.  Alternatively if we are all being bad humans and not in the kitchen to see this she will meow and attempt to lead us to said cabinet.

hmm. cuz Mitzi is the romanian ‘nick name’ for cats. the equivalent of kitty.

we had a cat named that (for that reason) and for some reason a friend once thoughtt her name was mitten soup.

I was baffled. but eh.

OK, you just solved a mystery...a girl I dated, her mother called all their cats Mitzi. She was from Romania.

Two reasons why this feline is named such. First, only the tips of her feet are white, thus looks like mittens. The second, I had the pleasure of spending time with Mitzi Shore on multiple occasions and her sassiness exists in this cat.
