My government work is bringing on a bunch of new people on Monday. We have no computers ready for them , no ID badges printed , no tech support, and HR just mailed me the benefits forms today. Gonna go well.

Just laying around the house, as usual. I had a brief surge of energy and started to clean up the living room and sort through stacks of unopened mail, but then I hit the reserve tank and I’m back to horizontal, watching YouTube as usual. Man. Been a week. Made three clients very happy, but crickets on a big proposal I banged out on Friday (they said they’d be making their shortlist... but, nothing. Not even a response to my followup). I hate it when I bend over backwards for a potential client and they don’t even have the decency to respond.

First day with kids today. They were pretty good. A couple of my groups will be a challenge, but I don’t foresee anything like it was last year. Last year I had some days that if I didn’t have a family to take care of, I likely would have tossed my keys on the desk and p eaced out for good. I’m hopeful that the new people and proce dures put into place will make a big difference. Our old assistant principal had given up, and I swear the kids went feral on us.

My schedule this year sucks balls though. It’s going to be a grind. I’m e njoying my favorite carbonated beverage on the patio, before I go to bed.
