I’m considering changing banks and, while N26 isn’t available here yet, I wonder if any of you have dealt with them or if it’s a good deal. The bank has two products, one with no fees, and one with a fixed 10 dollar-a-month fee but that has virtually free withdrawals at any ATM in any currency.
maybe when they do land in Mexico I’ll give it
a look.

I used them when I lived in Germany, they were excellent and quick to help me with any problems I had. The withdrawal from anywhere feature was great, and at least in Germany they let you deposit at grocery stores which I found convenient as my job there paid me in cash.

I have experience. I just started with them. There is no overdraft outside of Germany or Austria. If a debit presents itself and you don’t have enough money on the account they will charge you 3€. Even if you have 10000 on another Space with them... ridiculous. There is no saving and investing accounts outside of Germany as well. The online support is very poor and they are super slow to respond, they talk to 10s of people at the time....the app itself is fine but they offer very little when you think about it....

Long Term European Customer here., using it as my main bank account for several years. I am 90% happy.
The free plan, at least in Germany, includes “Get cash at grocery stores” , up to 5 withdrawal’s at any bank free of charge and no account or card handling fees. Money transfers are superfast, often wthin the same business day. TBH the 10€ plan including travel insurance on other minor stuff is not worth it for me ATM.
I once had a fraud cause with a site leaking the creditcard data though and a payment was made on my behalf. Luckily it got booked back automatically after about 2 weeks. However, n26 is infamous for their not so great security system (google it).
Customer lately has been reduced from phone and chat to chat within the app only. Chat support was fine though when I had to use it
All in all I can recommend them but they need to step up their game regarding fraud prevention and security.

I am a customer of N26 and it is pretty good.
In EU at least,I created my account in 5 minutes, received my card in 5 days, activated my card in 1 minute and i was ready to go.
5 monthly free of charge atm withdrawals, very good customer support and very nice website and mobile app.
I don’t know how the laws are in Mexico, maybe extra fees are applied or something, that depends on the country’s laws, but if it is like here go with it, it will be the fastest visit you ever made to a bank. Oh wait, you won’t even visit the bank, no need for it.
