There must still be a little trim up there. and then there are gutters and roof shingles that will need maintenance at some point.

I don’t see a stake in front of that ladder.

i was having a hard tim e screwing one of the shutters in. I was pushing on the drill hard enough that i actually pushed the ladder off the side of the house a couple inches. M y heart definitely skipped a couple beats.

YUGE! And undoubtedly delicious. But 0/10 at preventing Opposaurus’ ladder from sliding out from under him.

if anything, the opposite would be more likely. I had it pretty steep so pushing backwards probably would have been more likely that sliding down.

True, but you’d be surprised how fast that can change. I’ve been there, and went for my only ambulance ride because of it.

sounds like a fun. my ambulance ride came from falling off a jetski and splitting my shin open.

Thankfully I was still young and turned out to have not broken anything. My ass was one big bruise for about 6-weeks though.

I can relate to that. I once fell off a ladder at work while hanging a sign. Just leaned a bit to far over the side and down it went. That split second when you realize that you’re going to go down, and there’s not a thing in the world you can do about it, isn’t a great feeling. Then there’s hitting the ground. The impact wasn’t that bad ( you know, that general you just got hit by something feeling) , but sitting up and noticing my ears ringing and copious amounts of blood coming from my mouth and face told me it was worse than I thought. My coworker immediately going to call 911 confirmed that thought. The fact that I knew all of the EMTs that showed up to my facility made it embarrassing to be the on e they were here for.
In the end, it was some stitches, a broken nose, a concussion and four broken front teeth and week of workman’s comp time. The worst part was the paperwork. Never get hurt at work. The paperwork went on for weeks and weeks. Risk management also made me sit through an excruciating day of ladder safety training, and then later ended up decreeing that I was never allowed to touch a ladder at work again for the county.
