Couldn’t they have come up with a better designation than “IPL”? sounds like a shortened chemical’s name. Not that today’s equivalent “Red Sport” is any better.

I didn’t want a vert, but the hardtop was attractive. Almost bought one, my wife likes them. It would have been automatic, unfortunately. The M5 was an excellent argument that it is ‘automatic’ so she can drive it. Guess what? She still hasn’t driven it...

I’ve never driven a Solara and never hope to, so I can’t really compare. But it’s RWD with a decent chassis so I’m guessing not r eally.

Definitely should've been a joint venture with Nissan. Which would've made it the Nissan-Infiniti Performance Line. Basically an Infiniti version of a Nismo. IPL is not Nismo. But NIPL could've been!
