Rallycrossed the subaion today. It didn’t go particularly well.
Started out by dressing up my car for the occasion.
Then my fender liner ripped out
The fog light cover fell off later and was recovered.
I caught the run on camera. At around the 30 second mark, I hit the mud and you hear a loud crashy noise. Then I slo-mo’d the video where you can see my poor fender liner la ying on course.
Luckily it appears largely intact. Ordered some new clips to put it back in when I do brake pads
RallyX is fun, lots of steering required
Of course it was hot, I was tired, and the combination of the two left me feeling very ill by the time we got to the afternoon runs. It got to the point where I couldn’t bear to put my helmet on so I took an early leave to go home and recover.
In other news, my autocross wheels are freshly dressed in Direzza ZII star specs, and I have fresh Hawk HP5.0's to install before the next autox. Should help the car nicely.

T hat looks like lots of fun. I’d like to drive one of those toybarus one of these days.

Your license plate seems off, but the spelling looks right to me... hmmm.
Dude, that looks like a blast (minus damage). Keep it up! Good stuff!

That looks like a fun course. I laugh nervously every time I look at the “lost and found” parts pile at our rallycrosses .
How is your car set up, stock suspension and ride height ? Do you just change wheels and tires when switching between autocross and r allycross?

My car is stock. I’m just running the stock all seasons for Rallycross, I have another set of wheels with autocross tires

This looks like a great course. I wish there were speedometer data on the video ... it seems like at least 60mph through some parts .
Also, I think the loudest noise in the video might be the fuel pump at the end. When I had a BRZ, it made the same “crickets chriping” sound. That’s kind of fun.

I think my 2nd gear tops out right around 60 - I don’t think I hit redline but came close on that opening straight. I know a prepped STI was shifting up into 3rd occasionally.
And yes, the crickets are loud this time of year. Apparently filling up with ethanol-free premium gets rid of them, but they don’t bother me that much. I find the loud AC compressor ‘click’ much more annoying.

They’re such good platforms. The car is a blast to drive in anger because it’s so easy to control.

Stock does seem the way to go for a multi-purpose setup. Modding for autocross would make rallycross tougher and vice-versa. Except for adding power, of course!
