Replaced the leather belt with an automotive 6-rib serpentine belt. Despite being half the width the added traction makes a world of difference.

I can run a 40thou cut now, my surface finish is dramatically improved, and my chips are more aesthetically pleasing ;)

cue the slowmo...

I want a lathe...in fact I want two. A wood working lathe and a metal working lathe.

And a 4 axis milling machine...
