Apparently George wasn't kidding about all kinds of fiberglass repairs.

Is that a ‘54 Corvette turned into a shooting brake? I’m trying really hard to hate it because of the blasphemy of hacking up a C1 . I can’t hate it though - it’s pretty cool . From the look of the pictures they were taken long ago when C1s were far more plentiful.

Cool! A front engine dragster!

This came form a vintage auto forum, so yeah, they are period correct. Not sure I’m crazy about the scoop, but judging by the dragster it might be necessary. It would be fun to know what they had under the hood.

I love those things. Basically an engine with wheels.

George’s Corvette Shop w as in Hyattsville MD, apparently.

He does appear to have had some racing Vettes as well as the slingshot above.

The last one may make a few people scream cries of agony. A lengthwise sectioned C2!.

The last listed business address for George’s was 3601 East Street, which is now Smitty’s Radiator Shop:

There’s a Corvette specialist 40 minutes away in Gaithersburg that almost certainly knows more about the history.

That’s some fine detective work. You’re giving facw a run for his money. It never occurred to me to read the words on the side of the Vette.

It’s kind of funny, he was apparently in business all the way into the 2000s (the BBB page, inactive, lists its start as 2001), but despite all the George’s pictures and things circulated in the Corvette web community, I didn’t see one single solitary biopic style article. We’re talking a guy who raced Corvettes for a minimum of ten years (probably twenty) and was repairing Corvettes as a specialist for 40, and nobody thought to write anything down - not that I’ve found, anyway.

I wasn’t able to find much on George Reese obituaries: one from Baltimore in 2003 could conceivably be him, and another from 2004 in Taylor’s Island.

This was apparently around ‘67. George Reese also cut up a C2 in ‘64, see that link in my post.

Intersting. I bet if you were to travel to MD and ask around, you would find lots of people who knew him, and maybe raced against him.
