Yeah I wasn’t able to find a global one (just the three.ie map that I always use for Ireland) which also blocks out the UK.

I beg to differ on the Delmarva peninsula, everyone knows there's significant blackout zones all over the place.

It’s a crappy map....if you select frequencies/carriers, you start to see the gaps.

Kinja'd!!!

...and we all know the wireless companies like to extend their coverage maps a bit outside of where you can legitimately make (and complete) a call standing at ground level.

That looks a tad optimistic. Interestingly, Verizon has a big tower right in Milton, but you won't get even one bar in the entire town and surrounding area.

Of course that map can’t show the reality of local topography. I’d say about 95% of the places I usually go are “covered” completely by this map, but in reality, about 40% of the time I don’t have reliable service.

Conversely, about 15 years ago when I went to get a cell phone, AT&T wouldn’t sell me one because they said they had no coverage where I was, despite the fact that I knew they did - just not on their own towers. I convinced someone at a store to use the store address for my account’s location, somehow, and they gave me a phone. It worked about as well as it does now.

Even in a city it’s not perfect - I remember an apartment my sister rented in Back Bay in Boston a few years back, where she got perfect service if she stood on her balcony, but pretty much any interior room was dead. She was on the 3rd floor of a building of about 7 floors and lots of taller buildings around. It was nice and quiet but the lack of cell service was a real pain. This was before wifi could make up for not having cell service. I emailed her a lot.

And so is France but I had full reception in the middle of a forest at this year's Europpomeet!
