Spent 16 hours on the road yesterday, totally worth it. Good friends, good tunes, good vibes, and we got the Battle Buick out of storage! The owner has been missing this thing hard.
The guy holding onto it is a Buick lover and added some much needed mechanical love.
This thing has 350k miles, all original engine and transmission. It’s survived two Gamblers and the darn thing purrs like a kitten.
Meanwhile, I got an 11% raise and my rent is about to be cut in half. I’ll be so flush with cash I could be able to finish both the Ranger and the smart in time for October? We’ll see!
The trip yesterday got some ideas in my head for the Ranger and smart that I’m super excited to implement. Just gotta get those tyres to get started!
Meanwhile, I accidentally discovered a country road that you can get massive airtime on of you go just a little over the speed limit. Surprised the crap outta me and now I think I’ve officially earned my squid card.
So the best summer ever marches forward. I’m even back to swimming every week like I used to. :)
In final news, I saw a really familiar bike on Marketplace...

Owner 3 (I was the second owner) cut the stock pipes. Owner 4 added a sissy bar, more chrome bits, detachable bags, cleaned it up, and new rubber on both ends. This guy rode it about a thousand miles (compared to owner 3's 100 miles). Hope owner 5 treats it well. Apparently the current owner lives nearby, it would have been funny to see it on the roads!
Sadly, looks like my Rebel has entered the “everyone’s first bike” stage of life . At least I got to enjoy it while it was unmolested.

Honda Rebels are very popular 1st bikes. They’re so easy to ride. I think that’s why the MSF class up here had ‘em. I could scrape the pegs in turns on day 1.

I rode one for my MSF, which is why I ended up getting that orange one to begin with. Only reason I sold it was because it was too small/slow. First owner was an older guy that used it as a casual errand runner. Sold it to me after he dropped it and created that dent on the tank. But now it appears to have entered the realm of “first bike” owners. lol
