I love stuff from the machine age, cars, airplanes, trains, sometime in the 30s through the 60s when they built the biggest, strongest, fastest, SR71s, massive steam locomotives. Got to see the UP Big Boy today, crank up the volume, train acoming

Machine age is awesome.
One of my favorite historical exhibits is the USS North Carolina, a battleship turned museum that is basically a 1940s technological time capsule.
That last pic is of the steam turbine reduction gearbox
. That component alone weighs 300,000 lbs. All of the figures of everything in the ship are positively mind-boggling.
