Went to an open house nearby, then drove to this one for work.

Huge loft over left-hand garage bay, also has a powder bathroom behind me.

Master suite alone is bigger than my last house.

Office nook in master, would rent for $4,500 in SanFran

Yuge garage.

If it’s a spec house I’m surprised they went with that much carpet. Personally I prefer it in a bedroom  but I seem to be in the minority. That garage space is glorious.

Faux craftsman, carpet, weird tip-out (pellet stove I suppose), like a PNW trifecta.  The columns and odd height of the hearth just add to it.

Do they not do roller doors on garages in your part of the world? Those  panel mechanisms take up some potentially useful air space...

I am also perplexed. Unless there are upper cabinets missing (quite possible), and this is supposed to be some kind of party lounge...

... but there’s a powder bath 2 feet behind me in that photo. With, yes, a sink. Sooo... Me dunno :)

I once stayed in a garage for three days during a sailing trip that was interrupted by a hurricane. This was at  a huge home in a super wealthy town in Maine. It had a sink just like that. Right in the middle of the wall. Sticking out there like a sore thumb. Like a bump on a log. It was odd.

Should have a different door setup so all that space isn’t quite a wasted? Also, it looks ugly from the front both because garages tend to look ugly, and because this one has an immense blank space on top of it.

It’s not quite bad enough to get flamed on mcmansionhell.com, but it is close. The 2 story “lawyer foyer” and the pointless interior columns put it really close to the edge, indeed.

This is like something you’d see as a lake house in AL, then everyone would secretly talk about you as the Wealthy Redneck with No Taste.

Honestly, it’s not that bad...but this looks like it needs to be the back of the house. I assume it’s the front. The garages are overwhelmingly big and the main entryway is like an afterthought. That gives it a very “oversized manufactured home” feel to it.

The big, exposed LP tank isn’t helping.

The only rooms that should be ceramic or hardwood are the kitchen and bathroom.  Carpet everything else.
