Hey guys, I’m going to look at this corvette tonight. Any things to look out for on these models specifically or concerns that you guys see on this one?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Would ideally be a daily driver aside from the winter so let me know if you guys have any good experiences or cautionary tales?

You probably know more about C4s than me, so the only thing I’d have to offer would be generic first-year-platform advice. Generally being on the lookout for anything odd (bad switches, unusual corrosion, etc.) that falls under mid-production fixes and things overlooked before first run. I’m sure there are a couple noted by somebody somewhere. I assume the Doug Nash is working...

If you must get a C4, wait for a 6-speed. Otherwise, wait for a C5.

84 is the year all the Corvette guys steer away from and you really should try to get a later 6 speed car

Because of reliability or performance? I don’t really care about the car being fast, my girlfriend has just wanted an older 80s, 90s manual car thats cool to drive for a while now. This car looks well kept to me, is black which she loves, and shouldn’t be too expensive parts wise I would hope

Mostly reliability. The Crossfire engine is a dog and left over from the C3. The Dough Nash 4+3 just isn’t a stout trans but if you just want a fun-ish Vette then that is better than the slush auto. If you can get an L98 car 85-91 they are better performers and more reliable than the Crossfire as far as I understand.

This. Steer clear of the Missfire and 4+3.

Yeah I agree with the others, I’d save up more for the l98 and better ZF 6 speed 1989 and on.
That said, I'm surprised at the values for C4s, I'd think the 1990 and on were a bit lower.

There’s no need to get the top tier though, it’s just a car for my girlfriend to drive and cruise in. Car was super clean, guy had owned it since 87 and clearly babied it. Couldn’t get him down past 5500 so she decided that fin we get back from our cruise on the 12th and it’s still around we’ll come buy it

Yeah it's certainly not a bad deal. I'd just especially be weary about that goofy transmission.
