One thing that has bothered me about it in some photos is how tucked in the wheels look.  I get that’s done for both aero reasons and to keep debris from kicking up on the side, but it really lets the great design down a bit.  Spacers or wheels with a more aggressive offset will be an easy fix, but I think Chevy could do better here.

OK....stupid question....why do promotional cars and cars in ads always have a strangely body-colored fake license plate on them? Like.....you can’t see it or read it as it blends in with the body, so why bother...?

T he curvature/perspective doesn’t help, but that rear looks weird.

Also, maybe the (crook ed) cry ptic plate is a take on MAX Z51 ?

Not everyone finds reduced functionality attractive. For me knowing that this works better, makes it look better.

because people are used to seeing a plate there, but the photogs don’t want something distracting.

on the flip side, in countries which use Euro-style number plates, they tend to use generic (non-country  specific) plates printed only with reversible characters (0,1,T, W, etc.)

Depends where they fall on functionality vs perceived desired looks scale .

For the C8 also consider that this base car is almost as wide as a C7 Z06. The higher performance versions of the C8 might not get a wider body but wider tires.

I get that they don’t want something distracting, but if it’s body colored, you don’t even notice it unless you really look, and if you have to really look, why bother?

That’s true - they might’ve wanted to allow enough fender to be able to go a little wider on rubber for the hi-po variants.

 The front produces too much downforce to take the wing off. It threw the balance of the car off.
