I put the luggage rack back on last night. Almost bought a stand up paddleboard and was playing around with ways to transport it. Unfortunately it sold to someone else, but I’m still looking. Seems like wedging the back into the rear lip of the luggage rack, then strapping the middle to the rollbar is going to be my best bet. Racecar Miata with a paddleboard should pretty well show off the “living your best life” approach, no?

That’s how I would transport a board with my Miata at least. Or I would try shoving it into the footwell and strapping the roll bar as well. But that might not fit very well or at least be in the way of driving. Have thought about how I would take my Miata surfing but I havent seriously considered it because just using the roof rack on my Subaru is much easier.

That's amazing! I've always wanted an MG with a luggage rack like that.

Once upon a time I had a ZX3 that I would regularly toss a canoe on top of. It was several feet longer than my tiny 3 door hatch and was hilarious looking!

Have you tried SUP? Pretty lame in my opinion. But if you do enjoy it, you could always go the inflatable route, they’re actually pretty decent. I’ve got a friend with one from Amazon and it’s great.

Also, my bikes can carry as much as  your Miata!

I love it! I considered an inflatable, but my luck with inflatable anything has been poor.

Well of course. I have infinite vertical loading space, but you have infinite vertical AND horizontal space.

For how cheap they are, you might as well give it a shot. My friend had has hers for a couple years now and uses it a lot, with dogs. No issues.

Just get a bike already!
