You’d think “don’t mess with the 1000+ pound wild animal” would be obvious, but people really don’t get that just because something eats plants does not make it docile in the same way as domesticated animals (not that domesticated are always docile).

I have a feeling that because it’s a “ National Park” that people may think it is somehow more controlled than just some regular old wilderness.

This is an annual occurrence . Some people need to learn the hard way but unfortunate the child had to get hurt. S O many idiots who think a National park with WILD animals is a petting zoo.

We were at Custer SP in SD last summer, specifically to see the bison (buffalo, same thing). They made it abundantly clear that you were to stay clear of the bison and make no attempt to approach them. Shame that the girl had to pay for the stupidity of her parents. All the adults in that video should be cited for harassing the wildlife.

I was at Yellowstone once and came upon a group of people surrounding a male elk who was keepin g guard while two females ate. He was very upset. I quickly left as I didn’t feel like being responsible for providing aid to morons when the elk decided to start kicking ass.
