Kinja'd!!!

Let me assure you that setting your eyebrows on fire (as well as singeing large areas of your beard and hair) is both surprising and uncomfortable...and surprisingly noisy.

I got caught out by a wind shift on a pile burn I was stoking...only real damage was a quality sunburn on my forehead and eyebrow ridge.

On the upside, no hair growing out of my right ear  at the moment!

i almost had a face burn too. My grill was a little bit of a fireball. I thought I should shut down the propane tank so things wouldn’ t escalate. My face/arm was pretty red at the time, but everything seems fine today

Yeouch!

The scariest burn we had resulted in a small fire tornado. The burn pile was at the intersection of two cuts through the woods where the utility company brought in the power lines. We were burning off the debris. When the fire got big enough, it pulled air along both cuts and the air started swirling. Next thing I know, fire tornado! Fortunately, it was short-lived, didn’t get away from us, and nobody was burned.
