I agree except for the barely driven garage queens. In 10 years that C8 is on it’s 3rd owner, last one was a 23 year old who did all sorts of unspeakable things to it.
Owner 1 - (55 year old male, semi-retired, leased it for 3 years).
Owner 2 - (38 year old male, Sr Software Dev or Marketing Manager, bought it CPO, owned it 4 years).
Owner 3 - (23 year old male, still in college, delivers pizzas for mods, bought it at 3rd party lot on the corner, owned it 3 years mostly for YouTube vid creation ).
Owner 4 - (Jalopnik forum lurker and enthusiast getting ready to buy after he ask members for CarFax check).

Do Corvette owners lease? My impression was that they buy and keep it until they die because they think they are collectible.

I dunno, 60k is pretty cheap for what you get. Although who here has any faith that any dealer will sell a base model without a fat markup for a while? Anyway... This is a car one should buy new.

I am owner 10 if I remember correctly for my C4. The last owner had it for 5 months.... that is it. Some young kid I never met that parents were the go between for me and him XD. Had a terrible brake pedal cover on it and these meh leatherette seat covers.

Nah. It’s a car that makes a C7 depreciate faster, and thus more interesting. You can even get those with a proper transmission.
I don’t have the cash, but even if I did I would not consider the C8. It’s a car with very impressive specs for a price that’s very low considering the specs. But had such a rational argument like that ever been the prime motivation for me to buy cars, I’d drive a Yaris or a tall equivalent and not be on Jalopnik. No, the biggest advantage of the C8 is the effect it has on the value of other cars. IMHO.

I wonder how many we will see in Europe. I expect more than before, but more than close to zero isn’t that hard. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a C7. Still though, I share your sentiment. The pictures do nothing to me and the specs, though very impressive for the price, meh. Too fast and too automatic to drive at 10/10 on a B road, so more boring in the real world than something less capable, like an MX5.

Not typically, because the nature of the car is that it doesn't lease very well.
