You can get the middle trim with more colors like this maroon (closest to brown) with panoramic moonroof, etc.. $4500 discounts. I wonder how much cheaper you can find one of these set up like this in a couple years. I didn’t pick the fancy headlights etc... more stuff to break that is expensive to replace. Then price out Opel grille from Ebay.

As far as I’m aware, no Regal has any non-halogen headlight option available. It’s a strange omission.

People are easily getting $8k- 10k or more off of these. I got my GS for $8k off. My coworker got a fully loaded TourX demo with 4k miles that st ickered for $41k, for $26k.

Yeah I suspected it would happen, it’s hard to even find one, one a red one is near me in the Bay Area, top trim for 31k though. But it’s bright red. I would really want that maroon!

The configurate rer shows a self leveling LED upgrade. That sounds stupid expensive to replace.

I have seen $10k off easy (conditions apply of course) on the top lebel trim. I would recommend that because I found some key safety and comfort features missing in lower trims and they had lower discounts as well.

Oh, nice. I wouldn’t get one without the upgrade, for sure. Pricey replacement but will rarely be required and the added performance is worth it in most cases.

Yeah the backup camera comes with the package with headlight upgrade. I am going to show my wife, it would be great for the big kayak I think. It has AWD and with the Thule long arm off the back I think the long roof with swallow my kayak if its pushed forward as far as is safe on the front rack bar. It also gets the same or better MPGs as my CRV, it’s going to be quieter inside which is my wife’s biggest peeve. I would love the Volvo but big money for those. Overall it’s really perfect, I actually prefer it because the SUVs are so much taller and I can get my boat on this at a lower height. I’m pitching it to my wife so we will see, I don’t want the ones I see on hand at dealers, if I got one it will be exactly what I order.

Opel grille.
Nah, Holden or Vauxhall.
But I take your point, the Buick grille is pretty awful.
Irmscher grille maybe?

Wow kinja is not being nice, annoying! Yeah I would eventually rebadge it for sure. I was considering one kind of grille and then a totally different rebadge for the back just to confuse people haha.

Ye’, the Holden/Opel/Vauxhall grilles look a lot better and more modern than the traditional horizontal slat grille of the Buick.

For sure I would do that . I am still not sure what we will do, maybe wait. Depends on my wife too. If we wait a couple years I am also going to look at the Honda Ridgeline. But this wagon is making more sense as I can use my Thule Long Arm off the back of it with a tow hitch just like the Ridgeline, this would be a better DD too.

I would warn you to make sure you drive them before getting your hopes up.
We were super pumped for them, then we drove a couple. Disappointing is the best description I have, no BS when I say the 2018 Journey GT we drove was a far nicer place to be.

Oh I’m going to go drive it today I think. I drive a 2006 CRV EX daily, it has to be a vast improvement, gets the same MPGs as the CRV basically. It has 50hp on the crv 4cyl, the Acura has to be quieter with road noise too. When I’m off work I drive my W123 diesel Mercedes so this is for work mainly.

T he TourX was on par with my 1995 Acclaim on interior quality IMO. Very cheap feeling inside for something that’s supposed to be from a “luxury” brand.
And that’s before I get into the terrible trans tuning, terrible road noise, harsh ride, and terrible visibility.

Are you sure you drove a TourX? Because your experience and mine are vastly different. It’s pindrop quiet, good power, excellent handling, nice interior for the money, well-laid-out controls.
Having driven a 1995 Acclaim myself, there's no comparison, man. (Opinions are opinions, I guess, but...I just don't see it.)

We drove both of these after driving a used 2018 in Sauk City.
They were all noisy in the cabin, able to hear/feel every crack in the road.
The power was decent, IF ( and that’s a big if ) it’s terrible trans tuning managed to find the right gear, but the turbo lag was an annoyance. Otherwise the engine was quiet and the trans seemed smooth enough under normal driving, just don’t ask it to deliver it’s power without a gear hunt to get there.
The handling was decent , but at the cost of road noise and ride. The steering felt overly assisted, the ride was harsh, again I could feel every seam in the road.
The seats were hard/unsupportive. T he interior materials were “Fisher Price” at best. T he giant screen was well placed, but distracting. The rear design made everything from the B pillars back a giant blind spot, one of which no amount of mirror adjusting/dash screens can cover.
The only car we drove that day that felt worse than the TourX was a 2016 Taurus SEL, otherwise literally everything else we drove was substantially nicer than the TourX (including a 2018 Journey GT, a 2016 Regal GS AWD, 2019 Kia Optima, 2018 Grand Caravan, just to name a few), all of which could be bought cheaper.
I’m not the type to be sold on gimmicks like the general population, I’m sold on driving experience, quality feeling, and ride. Q uite frankly, MOST new vehicles fall extremely short on one or both qua lities. .......
