Worth noting that In street view, they have concrete planters to block the way:

Not sure if those were removed or if she managed to drive around them. IIRC t he whole upper courtyard was paved with the same cobblestones, so it was a bit fluid as to where car areas ended and pedestrian areas began.

This is the most Vancouver thing I’ve seen today, until I read something about 17 year olds street racing in Veyrons and getting a slap on the wrist, and then another expose on the money laundering basis of the local economy.  For an area that is so with-it and progressive in many areas, it has an amusing banana republic style underbelly.
