So, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is happening again tomorrow, and I’m prepping my Shinsen Miata for the trip from East Bay! I might even take the back roads through Morgan Hill and Gilroy.
So, are any other Bay Area Opponauts planning on making the trip? I hope to see you there! Just look for the Shinsen Miata!

Ever thought of removing the tupperware? I have never been a big fan of it and specifically avoided it when Miata shopping recently due to the potential for hidden rust. Either way, NB love from me of course! Glad to see more always.

Don’t feel too bad. The next one is on Sept. 3rd.

Nope, I love the body kit. The Shinsen Miata is rare enough, but one with every thing on it? Yes Please!
I do need to check for rust though, but that might not be a problem since mines have been in CA all its life.
Nice pic at Turn 3!

I’d never heard of this event. How often/at what time does it happen? Chances of me making it tomorrow are nil, but someday

It started in late 2018, so it’s fairly new. Ever since Tim McGrane left the Blackhawk Museum and became CEO of SCRAMP, this event kinda took the place of Blackhawk Cars and Coffee. It happens every other month, but there was like a few months hiatus because of track days and racing events.
The next one should be Sept. 3rd. All the info for this year’s schedule is right here:

Also, feel free to browse my collection lol.

Yeah its wild how different an East Coast Miata is from one out here on the West Coast. My first Miata lived its entire life in NJ until I moved out here in 2017 with it. The rust fairy did not give good presents to that car lol. This Miata is technically from the East Coast as well but it moved out here in the first month of ownership, so it was spared of the winter shit. The only possible rust problems are surface rust out here thankfully!
And I loved Laguna, such a great track. It was quite the trek up there (like 4 hours from home) but I definitely hope I can make it an annual thing going up there and getting on that track.

8 - 10 is not exactly a casual schedule when driving from SF, but I’m down to make it a meet.

Yeah, it really is an all-day thing. But I’m doing it because I’m bringing a friend that has never been to the track, so might as well get him used to it before Monterey Car Week!

Well, in that case, I hope to see you up here sometime! I’m pretty close to public relations for Laguna Seca, so I usually volunteer and shoot behind the fences. If you’re ever up here for a track day I’ll be happy to shoot your car!
