All depends on where you are from lol. To people in San Diego, everything north of Santa Monica is probably Northern California! It also depends if its accepted that there even is a “Central” California.

I think it makes most sense to say everything between Santa Barbara and Mexico is Southern California. Everything between Santa Barbara and Napa is Central California. And then everything north of Napa is Northern California. But then you also have all of the inland stuff like the Eastern and Western Sierra and those probably dont even really cover the inland areas to the North and South. It really makes more sense to divide California by “coastal” and “not coastal” if you really had to pick two things.

Yes it originated in the early 90s, we thought we’d killed it in the early 2000s but like herpes it never went away.

Well it is basically at the start of the top third . The map would put the Kings Range in wildling territory, I would love to live up there and never come back.

Kinja'd!!!

Honestly this map splits up CA in a much more regional way and makes sense.

1. Northern California

2. North  Mountains

3. North Desert

4. Central Coast

5. Central Valley

6. Southern California

7. Southern Desert
