My wife and I are planning a vacation in which we load up our stuff and dogs in the GTI and head to the beach for a week. Without the dogs I wouldn’t be concerned about cargo space. With them occupying the back seat I am concerned and I’m beginning to look at roof racks, cargo bags/baskets, etc. I’m lost. Please help! Any advice and/or product recommendations are appreciated.
Also, this stuff is more expensive than I expected. The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! seems to be the most economical option. Does anyone know if it is any good?

If you can avoid a roof rack, I suggest you do. They make a lot of noise and eat a lot of gas. That said, I think a lot of people go for this WalMart roof basket . It is like... $100 and is actually pretty decent.

That basket looks nice. Thanks for the suggestion.
I’m not too concerned about fuel mileage. I’ll take it off when not in use.

All of my family and friends drive massive trucks or SUV’s and therefore don’t have a need for a box. :(

Buy one on Craigslist then sell it when you are done. I just sold a box for $25 more than I paid.

All I know is that you need to get one with a fairing and sticker-bomb it, otherwise you get ze cooler.
