It’s Thursday, and I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I love the smell of Art Deco in the morning.

Who doesn’t love 1930s LA art deco. Even if you hadn’t said where it was one could easily say “that’s LA.”

Many great historical photos of LA at this site. Scroll to the bottom for an index.

Mmm Art Deco. Also reminds me of the scene in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (period correct cars and all) – wonder if it was filmed there.

Not sure of the scene, but those tunnels are still very much there.

Thank you! Just spent quite a bit of time clicking around there.
Just learned about the Hollywood Bowl. It’s no Red Rocks of course but that is impressive nonetheless.

That’s back in the earliest days of the Bowl. I wonder how many it seated. There are some fantastic early aviation shots on that site, which is how I found it.

One of my very favorite movies.
Never been to California but I’m pretty sure this is an accurate representation of typical driving:
And also, the entrance to toon town - perhaps not the same tunnel but one like it:

“I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”
Have been to CA recently. Can confirm driving.
