Took the M3 to work today and parked next to the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Today started on a good note because I took the M3 to work. That was not dampened when I got to work today as the meeting I didn’t make a power point for got canceled.
Also, if you allowed yourself to get screwed on an interest rate, why would you willingly advertise for the dealer?

I read your previous post and I am still amazed. I have also ridden in a Renegade and I can't imagine paying anything for one.

And yet someone would walk by those two cars and go “Oooh Bee-Emm-Double-You, you must make a lot of money”

I love the idea of turning parking lots into solar fields . It s a clean energy which on its own is great but it also removes the giant heat islands created by the massive splotches of black paving, protects the cars from the elements, and them cool. These should be everywhere.

Parking lots are also easy to access and don’t risk/require putting a bunch of holes in your roof.

That is exactly what people think about me, apparently. I have to explain to them that the combined monetary value of the Vette and the Mini is less than the price of a new Corolla

I mean, despite being 7 years older, the M3 still has the higher residual value.

Yeah, I don’t know how anyone could stomach payments like that unless it was a very short loan.

Two expensive cars, but only one is parked like a BMW...

I’m still dumbfounded; I had one as a rental once , it’s not much better than a Versa.

Judging by its parking, its clearly a BMW and not a Jeep

I gave a co-worker a ride somewhere in my old BMW and she literally said, “ooh a bmw!” It was at least 12 years old at the time, and she drove a much newer Subaru.
I can’t tell you how many people I work with who make less than me and spend more on their cars. (Let’s just leave the boat out of this discussion, shall we?)

The M3 is still worth 30-35k , maybe more. The Jeep new was less than 25k.

People just don’t know that you can have fun cars for less $$ (at least initially) than a commuter car if you are willing to work on it.

Ye’, if you look at car parks (parking lots) and house roofs, the sheer amount of unused potential is staggering. We’ve got them on our front roof and it generates a small income (even in one of the cloudiest and wettest parts of the U.K.) that we wouldn’t have otherwise just by being there.

We had a car rental company pick us up from the car body shop to go sign for a rental, that three mile journey was awful. Dark, dingey so uncomfortable, learned that the rental company were going to give it to us but gave it to a few Americans on holiday and gave us ‘an upgrade’ they called it to a Hyundai i30 (Elantra).
That was a close call.

That's what people think about me when I constantly roll up to work on various motorcycles. No, I'm just very good at getting Craigslist deals. The chick rolling in that Tesla balls harder than I do. lol

I once knew a person that had to pay $2k a month in car payments on two cars. One car was a Camaro and the other a Fiesta. Why $1k per car?
Well, they had a habit of wanting different cars, so they’d pay off some of the loan then trade in their cars for other cars. The remainder of those loans would get rolled into the new loans over and over and over until they ultimately ended up with $1k payments on literally any car they would finance.

I’d park it like that too if I was paying near-supercar money every month .

I really think a lot of people don’t have a fundamental understanding of how loans work and negative equity. To be honest, until I actually had one, I was a but ignorant as well. I almost ended up with a ~$1k/mo payment, but I did have the resources to handle it. What really gets people is the negative equity, you shouldn’t trade a car in just because you want something different if you’re than upside down.

Shouldn’t the parking jobs be the other way around? As a BMW driver, you have certain stereotypes to fill, ya know.

The University of Arizona has been experimenting with placing solar panels above gardens. The panels provide shade (which things like tomatoes and peppers need in Arizona) and the moisture released from the plants cools the panels which makes them more efficient. They call if Agrivoltaics.

No offense to any FCA owners out there, but if you watch the South Main Auto channel on youtube, 90% of the vehicles that come in for tricky electrical repairs are FCA vehicles. Many are only a few years old and have wires corroded off of fuse boxes and other weird failures. In my opinion people should be warned to not buy FCA products if they value their hard earned money.
