Joining a small tile company that does custom work in high-end homes all over the Seattle area. I saw a sizable sampling of their work. It’s reaaaaaal good. I’ll be an apprentice, working directly with the owner. He seems like a really good guy, and sounded very excited to have me join. I’m beyond pumped. Having steady income will be nice, but even more than that, I’ve deeply missed spending time in interesting homes. Now I get to help CREATE those homes I spent so many years maintaining.

If this works out I'll probably greenlight my often talked about kitchen remodel.

My thoughts too. Nothing like a long break to make work sound exciting again, but it takes a good environment to keep it that way.

Oh and I still hope to someday ambush him on a job. I’ll have my crew set up on top of a massive chandelier, nerf guns at the ready...

I don’t like that architecture, reminds me of an office building. Maybe meant for those people who hold their job as their core identity, and always want to feel like they are at work.
