There seem to be several types. I need to both flush and bleed the brakes on the 1970 Datsun 240Z.

Paul Newman Nissan for your time.

I saw this type on Amazon, seems like a bunch of “it’s great” and a bunch of “it stinks”.

How about a quart of fluid, a hose on the bleeder, and open it and let it drain by gravity until it flows clear? Or if you are in a hurry have somebody pump them?

An ything else is overkill unless you own a brake shop....

Yeah I think you are right. I have been using the ol pump them up method and I just need to get to it one more time all around. The kid helped last weekend and my wife helped yesterday.

I have the Motive one and it works although I have to use a universal cap for my 2008 Acura TSX as they don’t make one for later model Hondas. Even then I had to make better hooks for the universal chain to go around the bottom to hold the cap which is just a flat round cap with a rubber insert with slightly conical shape to it which will seal against most reservoirs. On the plus side, the universal cap comes with the basic model. Best of all I don’t have to convince my wife to sit in the car an pump the brakes for 20 mins (full flush).

I would use this on both my datsun and mazda, it would be much easier to not have to rely on another person to pump the brake peddle a couple thousand times.

Motive power bleeder.  I use it frequently.  I’ve had to replace the hose and the o ring on the tank, but it’s over 8 years old.

Worked well for my 2008 Grand  Prix.

I have this one from Harbor Freight that works pretty well for pulling fluid through. As one of the reviewers mentioned I also tend to get a lot of bubbles with it (maybe it’s pulling air through the threads of the bleeder?) For this reason I prefer to have a helper pump the brakes a couple times for the final bleeding, just so I know 100% there’s no air in the lines. I have done it by myself with this tool a couple times with fine results, so maybe I’m just paranoid. Regardless, it’s pretty cheap and has come in handy several times in the last few years.
