Actually, I’m not there anymore. I spent Wednesday-Saturday there for training at Milwaukee School of Engineering. The training was for a Flight & Space class I have to teach next year. I didn’t have much time for fun. I explored the city a bit on the scooter (it was nice), but I was doing homework until 11 each night and up at 6am to start it all over again.
I did manage to stop at the Harley Museum to take this picture. I didn’t have time to go inside, but it was only a few blocks from the hotel so I was able to make a quick detour.
The drive home yesterday evening was rough. I was completely drained and tired, but I also had a c rushing sinus headache and my stomach wasn’t in any condition to handle coffee. I almost pulled off the highway and took a little nap, but managed to make it home. I was in bed by 8.

I am glad you made it home safely. It’s too bad you didn’t have more time for fun.
Are those some custom highway pegs on there?

Hey you were in my neck of the woods! I’m at UW-Milwaukee for mechanical engineering now, but the flight and space class sounds more fun haha.
Side note, I went to bike night at the Harley Museum and I’ve never felt more out of place than getting out of my Lexus RX in my work clothes and being surrounded by the stereotypical Harley crowd.

The flight and space class has potential. It has some really cool projects in it. Although s ome of the materials, quite frankly are lame AF. I plan to use ttyymmnn’s This Date in Aviation History as supplemental material.
A lot of those stereotypical Harley folks were staying at the same hotel. It was fun parking my scooter next to their hawgs :)

I saw enough of Milwaukee to know I want to go back. I did get a chance to ride along the lakefront Wednesday night. That was fun.
Yes they are. I made that out of a scrap of 3/4" electrical conduit. I'll snap an up close picture when I get outside later.

If there’s anything you would like crappy cell phone pictures of from the USAF Museum for supplemental material just let me know. Given enough notice I can swing by at lunch.

Well at least you got to ride the lakefront.
In other news, I got my M permit yesterday. You need the permit before you can even sign up for an MSF course, and the courses are sold out until like September. So I figured I'd get the permit, sign up for a class, and then set a goal to work towards. Still not buying anything yet.

Milwaukee sure has had its share of cisitors over the years . Not sure if you knew this, but Milwaukee is actually Algonquin for “the good land”.

I will let you know if I need any of that, thank you :)

Good plan!
I had to get my permit before I took the class as well.

French settlers have been trading here since the 1600's.

Did you take the Zuma all the way up and back?

Here’s the highway bar. The mounts are a little beat up, and could use replacement.
It ain't pretty, but it sure beats buying one off of eBay!

I’m all about the function on this thing. It's a tool ... A tool for having fun :)

No, I had way too much stuff to bring. I tossed it in the back of the truck, and then the truck stayed at the hotel the whole time.

Hopefully I'll be out there having fun too in a few months.

Oh okay, thinking that a 8 hour drive with a weeks worth of stuff would be pretty cramped on that.

Its only a 2-hour drive, but on the scooter it would be double that. Can't take the interstate, and there's no good route from there to here.

Sorry, some reason I took “In bed by 8” and turned that into 8 hour drive. Reading comprehension and 100 degree heat aren’t working together.

I had a feeling the materials wouldn’t be quite as exciting. I’m learning that is the case with a decent amount of my coursework haha! Glad to hear you can plug a fellow Oppo’s work too.
I love that you got to throw your scooter in the mix. My friend who convinced me to go down there has a BMW motorcycle, so I’m sure they loved having that in their presence too.
