This only leaves Lamborghini and Bugatti as the only VAG brands to openly consider an entry.
La Marseillaise intensifies.

FIA is replacing prototype cars, such as the 919, with the new "hypercar" class. The idea is to get back to something similar to the days of GT1 as I understand it - such as the 911 GT1.

That’s a bummer. I’ll be surprised if either of the remaining companies commit. Porsche was the best bet. I suppose there could be a Bugatti entry, but I feel like Lamborghini would be an uncharacteristic choice for that company.
Tat may sound crazy, but the company hasn’t had anyfhing quicker in FIA than a GT3 car for racing in a looooong time.
There was the GT1 Murcielago R-GT about 15 years ago, but that thing wasn’t very successful. Ditto for the LP670 RSV 10 years ago.

Who is currently committed to the new formula? I know Aston Martin and Toyota are in, but have McLaren and Ferrari been confirmed?

Was there an official statement? I missed it.
It would be pretty cool to see Bugatti or Lamborghini in hypercar.

Seems odd that Porsche i s now “only” doing Formula E and 911 factory support. Is DTM feasible with the new rules, given Aston is in now? Here’s hoping an F1 announcement is around the corner
