Would you put a loud aftermarket exhaust on a car with a CVT?

I don't think I would. But I'd probably avoid a CVT anyway.

I would if I loved drone music

Most CVTs come programmed for stepwise varying now (as in, simulated fake gears.)

Would sound like a conventional automatic, as in, everyone knows immediately that your loud car isn’t a stick shift. True CVT mode could be interesting.

There’s a Maxima in my town that’s straight piped, it sounds like a wet fart. Doesn’t help that it’s a VQ too.

Currently driving a WRX with CVT and the ATI exhaust (I need eyesight for the amount of driving I do) and it’s really not bad. In normal mode it can be a little droney, but it generally simulates shifts enough that it sounds pretty good.

If its got a cvt im probably daily driving it. I will never make the mistake of putting an exhaust on a DD ever again.
