When you travel, it is important to embrace the local culture.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

They want you to eat the Miner burger, so I ordered the damn Miner burger. They apparently have not redecorated since 1987.

Kinja'd!!!

Today’s meetings were successful, as I did my thing. The best part was, an hour into the first meeting, they pulled me aside and showed me an email my pals  from the UFW sent to Costco about how California’s most notorious union-busting attorney was in Yakima and dairy farmers were even meeting with this villanous cad! This monster apparently even brought his mean client who organized workers to vote the UFW out in the largest union election in California history. It was the greatest email I have ever seen and the best commercial the union could have made for me. Hey farmers, if you talk to me, the bully will tell the teacher on you.

It makes me happier than all the money I have made in my whole career to know that those assholes are afraid of me.

“ Watch out for this guy, he does a great job and his clients really get their money’s worth”

So, they kicked you out after that, right?

Nice. I’m always a bit intrigued by the dynamics of the parts of agriculture that employ large numbers of people. One side of my family were farmers , but by the time they got on the boat and helped settle Western Nebraska in the 1850's wheat was already harvested by animal drawn machinery. Nobody every cut wheat by hand out there.  I imagine the ones that opened up a mill probably employed other folks at times, but most of them ran their farms with family labor.

The appeal is a good, big ass burger. The shakes are really good too. I would recommend more but it's been about 13 years since i lived in yakima. My intel is a bit out of date. If you haven't had dinner, there are a couple of native food places out in toppenish from what i remember. The fry bread was good

You need to get some “Meanest Lawyer in California” promo materials made up ASAP.

Agreed. Now I’m hungry.

Is Yakima too far out of the way on a trip to Chelan? Probably. I'm thinking about it for next weekend anyway.

Yes, but Chelan is amazing. Plenty of great places to eat and plenty of wineries there.

Perspective: I once detoured to the tri cities (aunt and uncle's house) after a concert at the gorge for an excuse to hit Miner’s.
